This chapter is called “when Dookie calls😂”

The issue at hand is i had roots growing into the main line of my sewage pipe, going to the city cleanout and also under the house

As a professional DIY-er this was at the BOTTOM of my list, i do NOT like messing with plumbing, but when it comes between paying an actual plumber $3k or doing the job myself, i didnt second guess it (i actually went back and forth about the idea about 17 times😂) and stopped about halfway through digging to call a plumber and see how much cheaper it would be now that i had the hole nearly 80% dug out, well the $$$$Price he gave me motivated me to finish the job myself, because “aint no way”

*Labor Breakdown *
12-13 hrs of digging SOLO
Demo of the old clay pipe took about 40 minutes
installation of the new pvc pipe along with primer, pvc cement, adding the rubber couplings etc, took about 2 hours,

*Price breakdown*
(The Plumber would have charge me about $3k to do the job if not more)

20ft of pvc cost me $60
Rubber seals/coupling cost me about $60
Pvc cleanout -1 way- $30ish
Plywood-$25
Wood 2*4’s-$24
Metal straps for the water line- $10
Uhaul to grab the material-$63
Primer and pvc cement- about $20

TOTAL COST -$290

Went into this job trying to figure out why the kitchen light wasnt working, and why some outlets did not have power
Long story short there was 4 switches on the wall, but after tracing the circuits and identifying the Line (power coming from panel) there only needed to be 2 switches on the wall
There was Zero power going to the things connected to the switches because the loads were hooked up to the switches directly,

Kitchen light- one switch
Outlet- on a switch
Outside porch light- on a switch
Incoming power- onnnn a switch

Whats the Issue??

There was no pig tailed neutral wires And no pigtailed power to each switch,
Power was on 1 switch ( neutral on 1 terminal/hot on the other terminal)

Also the neutral (going by color codes) was the HOT wire🤯 and not phased

Took hours to troubleshoot/find the issue

Once complete, I installed the new sheet of drywall, covered the joints using joint compound and sanding /painted the area

I Also added handles/knobs to the kitchen cabinets, and ran a circuit for the kitchen receptacles💪💪
Along with a few other tasks,

This was Definitely NOT a easy task,
Demo+Install

I had to rip put the Cabinets from the ceiling of an older home, the cabinets were definitely Installed very well, but the ceiling was NOT, pictured below, (causing draft issues etc, ) although the cabinets looked nice above the existing countertop they took away from the overrall apperance of the kitchen making it look cluttered

Demo took about 2 hours - dealing with older houses you have to make sure whatever you are Demoing, doesnt just fall completely out, its no telling what the person BEFORE you might have done to secure the cabinet making it dangerous-
On top of that safety precautions! There was Alot of insulation (loose) that was falling from the ceiling, wood shavings flying around (hackzall)

The 2×4's lining the ceiling took the absolute LONGEST, due to them actually being attached to the studs lining the kitchen ceiling, it would have been horrible if i had not recognized that and pulled them out the ceiling and the studs would have came falling down with them,
So i had to cut inbetween the 2×4's and the studs, cutting through the screws connecting them to the studs

All in all this portion took probably about another 4 hours
They used the thickest nails they could find, and i had to slice the 2-4's up into like 2 foot sections before separating them,

I tested the voltage for the electrical verifying it was 120V, (there was a flourescent light fixture mounted in the cabinet) then turned the breaker off for it
And disconnected the wires and had to find a way to safely get the 2×4's that they had surrounding the romex from around it without damaging it at all

The End results are below, i also had to mount a OLD WORK light fixture box between the studs for the new light fixture i wanted to install, being that the okd light fixture was literally just sitting in the ceiling mounted cabinets so it needed no box

Added a junction box to extend my romex to the box, cut my drywall to now cover up the studs etc and Booom- we in there ❗️
