My latest experiment is using barn quilt techniques to paint co****le games. These are for my bother’s memorial picnic next weekend. I miss my brother, and it’s been hard losing him, but we are going to have a party celebration of life with a Buffalo Bills theme. He would love that this is what we chose to do to celebrate his life. RIP Gary.

I have had the idea of doing something like this, but I would have to paint it on ACM (possibly plywood since they would be indoors so I don’t have to worry about rotting) as if it’s a barn quilt, then screw it (or use magnets) across the kick plate. Now I just need someone with stairs to understand the vision and let me do it! Ultimately, they could be changed out seasonally (4th of July stair risers anyone?! The boys keep me company when I’m working. Ever since I put the decoy pillow on the far corner of my big work table, they’ve done a better job of staying off of what I’m actually working on!

Someone contacted me to ask if I can ship barn quilts and what my pricing was. I realized that others might be wondering the same thing, so I’m creating this post to show examples of more complex barn quilts. Please see the previous post for simpler examples. Prices shown are for 2’x2’ barn quilts painted on ACM (aluminum) and sealed for use indoors or outside. These all would be $140-$160 range for 2’x2’. I’m currently set up to ship anything up to 2’x2’, but research shipping prices for 3’x3’ if anyone is interested. Anything bigger than 3’x3’ would need to be made in pieces that could be hung next to each other to create the desired size, unless you’re local to me (Johnson City, TN) and can pick it up in the full size. I will mark on each picture if it’s sold or available. Everything can be recreated using the desired colors and size.

This is my latest custom order Christmas present for a dear friend who consigned me to paint 3 barn quilts featuring his parent’s pets. He sent me the pictures of the pets, and Chat GPT helped me turn them into vintage pop art style barn quilts. They took me months to paint because I really wanted to capture the personalities of each animal. If you blow up the pictures, I am really proud of the eyes. I worked especially hard on them. They were hung using magnets. I’m including the pictures of the pets and the results. My friend/clienf measured the area they’re hung before I got started, and we sized them based on that. He wanted the center one to be 4’, but it ended up being 3.5’ so it would fit perfectly.

This is the magnet info from my client (pictures are added of the actual products he used):

“I would use the big ones all over next time … they give a LOT of room for mis-alignment on the ribs. IF a flat surface the small ones were powerful enough for sure!!”

The town of Elizabethton got the plaques up on the art project I did last spring. How cool is that?! Unfortunately, they spelled my company name wrong. Darn it!

There’s nothing more satisfying than starting a new Love Blossom barn quilt. I’m doing this one in Americana colors - my favorite! ❤️🤍💙🤍❤️
