A huge thank you to Seafoam Driftwood for this stunning piece of weathered manzanita brought down from the high desert. The care they put into sourcing and rehoming these special bits of nature is heartwarming, lovely people! ❤️

This piece replaced a gigantic agave that was slowly but surely taking over the most central part of the garden, see last picture.

For me it was so special to work with this wood as we were doing this garden refresh on the 33 year anniversary of my daddy’s passing. He was an absolute nature and wildlife lover who dedicated his life to studying the forest and all the critters who called it home. An avid hunter and fisherman who fed our family with the fruits of his time spent, along with my mama who prepared everything with love.

He was a taxidermist and always had driftwood and other elements of nature around for use in his work and for inspiration. So this piece and the timing of this install felt very close to home and his spirit was tangible all week. Miss you always Daddy, thanks for the inspiration to create art with nature. ❤️

Also, RIP to this country music legend, we listened to this record as kids, daddy loved all the greats!

Summer has been honey for my soul 💛 Working some, playing some, relaxing some, thoroughly enjoying and feeling so grateful.
Been surrounded by flowers and gifts from the garden, we’ve sure been eating good!!

Even got to go back home to sweet Minnesota and spend time on the lake with my family, we had fish and strawberries for days!

As fall approaches and onsite work picks back up I am savoring the moments of freedom while they last. Excited for cooler temps and to get back into it! If anyone in Oside wants tomatoes I’ve got em by the pound!

This island in the garden was begging for a refresh, so I went all in and planted a succulent tapestry.

It’s been a minute since I’ve packed plants in so tight and it’s just a beautiful treat to paint the garden with plants like this! Just in time for summer too!

The latest rendition before the refresh was grow out and had lost most of its charm, there’s a picture on the last slide if you’d like to compare. Let me know which you like better!

Just a couple ponytail palms, swaying in the breeze. Anchored by the sturdy, grounded, golden barrels. What a combo! 🌴☀️

We made some big edits to this garden that already had some very nice mature specimens. The Beaucarnea recurvata is a stunner! When I was cleaning it up I found an old birds nest woven into the leaves. I think I took video, if I can find it I’ll post it, was pretty cool to see how well this plant works for safe harbor.

I love to pull up to a garden for maintenance on a cool cloudy morning ⛅️

It doesn’t normally last, usually the sun is out by 10 and we are roasting, but I really savor those cool early hours in the garden!

This garden has so much color and variety, it has really grown into a magnificent showcase of the beauty of Succulents!
