Head in the clouds, footings in the granite.

Footings are going in for this custom new build in Manchester, with views of Kettle Cove and Magnolia Harbor. It took significant excavation and some blasting through Cape Ann’s famously strong granite to get here, but the foundation is underway. This home is officially beginning to take shape.

This may be Caitlin’s idea of heaven: a rainbow of Labs and water views.

But in all seriousness, with a view like this over Coffins Beach, the design is really about letting the setting lead. An open-frame ceiling above, coastal-inspired beadboard, light wood floors, and cottage-style windows all work together to keep the space feeling bright, casual, and relaxed, while making sure the view remains the main event.

A moody façade, barrel-arched entry, and gas lanterns set the tone for this modern farmhouse designed for gathering. Rooted in familiar farmhouse forms with English country influences, the home balances warmth, permanence, and a little drama at the front door.

The throwbacks continue.

In 2016, Abby was 14 and getting ready to start at Hamilton Wenham Regional High School.

That summer was filled with firsts: working her very first job as a camp counselor and looking ahead to the engineering courses waiting for her in the fall.

A new school, new opportunities, and the beginning of the path that would eventually lead her here.

Our 2016 throwback series looks at where everyone was in life back then, but every story is different. Christina’s is one of resilience.

“In 2016, I moved from Peru to my sister’s house in Wayland for breast cancer treatment, bringing my two daughters with me (ages 5 and 1 at the time). That made four kids in total, ages 7, 5, 3, and 1, which meant constant chaos, impressive noise levels, and zero chance of boredom. Somewhere between toy explosions and intense snack diplomacy, life kept moving at full speed.

It was the hardest year of my life, but also one filled with family, resilience, and more shared snacks and toys than anyone could count. Ten years later, I’m happy to report I am still here and cancer-free.”

Conceptual design for the expansion of a historic home on Eastern Point.

The plan brings new life to the existing house while expanding the way the property lives outdoors. A thoughtful addition, new pool, pool house, layered terraces, and garden edges create a series of connected spaces for gathering, retreat, and long summer days at home.

Still early, but this is the part we love: shaping the big picture before the details come into focus.

The 2016 throwback stories keep going!

Back then, Madison was a high school senior, wrapping up one chapter and getting ready to start the next.

Prom, graduation, and a summer full of celebrations marked the end of her time at home, soaking in every last moment with hometown friends.

Soon after, she was off to Endicott College to begin her next adventure: studying Interior Design.

As part of our 10th anniversary throwback series, we’re continuing our look back at where the team was in 2016.

Back then, Julia was 14, graduating from 8th grade and getting ready to start high school.

It was a year of firsts: making the varsity cheer team, rocking blonde hair, and landing that very first job. A season full of excitement, big milestones, and the start of a whole new chapter.

Ten years ago looks a little different for everyone.

As we celebrate a decade in business, we’re taking a step back to 2016—before the projects, before the growth, before it all came together—to see where the team was at the start.

So, where were the McSheras in 2016?

Ryan was working full-time at a high-end residential architecture firm, quietly sketching out plans for something of his own. Nights, weekends, holidays, you name it, were spent building both a house and a business. One small detail, Caitlin didn't know he was planning to resign.

Caitlin was working a 9-to-5 at a statewide nonprofit by day and spent nights and weekends renovating alongside Ryan. Together, they had just wrapped a six-year (yes, six) comprehensive renovation of their antique home in Ipswich, before immediately moving on to the next project: a red barn.

No kids yet, but back then, there were two yellow labs.

Peek-a-view at The Long View. This project is humming along in Rockport. All major spaces orient out to the expansive view over Pigeon Cove. We predict the second floor deck will be a cocktail hour destination for many years to come…
