Although a relatively new build (2016) a construction defect lawsuit led to the roof, siding and doors/windows all being replaced on this client's home in Dexter.

Very difficult to capture months of work to coordinate a Lane County Building Permit & inspections, a window/door company that replaced all the exterior facing doors and windows, and a fiber cement siding company that replaced almost 65% of the siding on the house... all while a family of 4 lived in the house!

Below are a couple pictures of new items that we framed to meet the specs of the building permit: French Door entrance added to master bedroom and enlarged two windows (in Office and Kid's Room) to match size of middle window.

The rest of the project was exposing the framing of every exterior window and door to confirm sizing, level and plumb and make adjustments where necessary ... and then repairing the walls we opened!

They were also very friendly and we loved having them around. I would highly recommend them to anyone who asked and we will definitely be using their services again."

Latest Project: Soundproof Room Addition.

Client wished to convert an existing bar area in the bonus room to a bedroom with soundproofing to reduce noise from the adjacent kitchen and living room. Utilizing products from Trademark Soundproofing, we framed a new wall and doorway, added insulation and sound proofing, installed new drywall, rerouted some electrical with new lighting, replaced the flooring, and finished with installation of trim and baseboard.

The link jumps ahead, but describes an interesting practice for how he goes about getting advice from his 85-year old self. If you can wait for it and at least watch the last 20 minutes of this podcast he hits on all cylinders!

Interesting Water Management System built into an open vertical grain siding installed at a riverside home. Architect Steve Baczek describes in detail how this works.

Keep in mind, moisture isn't necessarily an issue when it comes to damaging a home, the main issue is a situation where any moisture that gets in doesn't have an opportunity to dry. An open slat system like this gives lots of air flow, allowing any penetrating water to dry, and keep wood framing from rotting.

Still worried? Review the video, there's lots of layered technology here operating to keep water from actually getting to the home framing. Pretty cool!
