A little personal project I’ve been waiting to share… my new home. 🤍

I’m embarking on a year-long renovation - taking this sweet little house down to the studs, adding on, and thoughtfully rebuilding it from the inside out.

There’s a lot ahead, and I’m excited to bring you along for the entire process - from plans and construction to all of the design decisions along the way.

Every project starts with a walk up to the door.

Not the meeting. Not the mood board. Not the layout on the second monitor at eleven at night. The moment where you stand in front of a house you have been thinking about for weeks and let it tell you what it needs.

A lot of design is done at a desk, and the desk work matters. But the rooms that come out best are the ones where we showed up in person often enough to notice the small things. How the light moves at three o’clock. Where a doorway feels tight. Which wall wants pattern and which wants to stay quiet.

This is what trusting the process looks like.

Two rooms, one house, a client who let us plan it in the right order. Layout first. Paint second. Furniture and lighting third. Styling last, on a shoot day where every decision we had made months earlier finally arrived in the same room at the same time.

A living room and a dining room, months apart in the making and about ten seconds apart in this reel. The paint went up before we knew where every chair would land, because layout tells you where the walls need to breathe.

A good number of pieces in these rooms were already in the house, moved, reupholstered, restyled, or simply put somewhere they finally made sense. The rest arrived in an order that made install feel like a series of small wins.

The best rooms almost always have something in them that was already yours. Trusting the process is about the sequence, and it is just as much about knowing what to keep.

Start with what you have. Let the room tell you what it needs.
