👋🏼✨Hi, for those of you who are new we want to introduce ourselves and share our story with you.

We are first generation flower farmers with dreams to provide the local community in rural KCMO with fresh cut flowers that mimic what you would find seasonally throughout Creation.

We moved to to KC in 2024 from Jacksonville, NC with our children, Aspen, Olive, and Gardner. Josiah was a Captain in the Marine Corps and by the time our eldest daughter was 3, he had missed half of her life being away and the majority of our son’s first year as he was deployed to the Middle East in 2023. After many conversations and a lot of prayer, Josiah decided to get out of active duty so that he could be a more present father while being at home making a positive impact on our children. We loved the military community and it will always be a part of our lives and story.

While it was hard to decide where to put down roots (after 5 years of being told where to go) a piece of old cattle land in Excelsior Springs popped up on Zillow right down the road from my mom. We jumped on it and decided to build our forever home. We felt that we needed to cultivate this land and somehow share it with others. I began gardening in 2021 and after somebody gave me a seed pack of cut flowers for Mother’s Day that year, I fell in love with how a seed so small could bloom into such beauty. Flowers seemed to be the most natural way to share our love of God’s Creation.

While I’m the one who plans the crops, color schemes, and other pretty and dreamy things, Josiah is the muscle behind it all. When I am harvesting stems, Josiah is putting in irrigation, fencing, and other systems on his days off as a Police Officer to make the farm more manageable. The kids, while still small, are learning to plant seeds, identify varieties of flowers, and help water.

2026 is the first real year to market with our flowers and we are excited to meet new customers and see the fruition of our labor that began way back in December. While we’ve got another son due in July, we plan to continue to harvest and sell as much as we can via fresh cut bouquets, a DIY flower bar, and small events. Oh, and ALL of our stems are grown on our farm.

We will see you all tomorrow, weather permitting!

We are in a lull week with flowers. Between spring and summer blooms, we just don’t have as many focal flowers as we would like. We still have some Sweetie bouquets with our first sunflowers and a handful of our Beulah bouquets with the last ranunculus of the season. In the coming weeks, all of our summer flowers will be making their grand appearance!
