🌿 Season 2 Begins with Heart 🌿
This past weekend, the Green Lanterns kicked off a new season with something truly special, as volunteers mobilized to transplant daffodils and other plants across town—bringing new life and color from Benoit Square to Macomber Park, along the Phoenix Bike Path and marsh near Weeden Road.
This effort was made possible by an incredibly meaningful opportunity—thanks to the generosity of the Hergenhan family.💚
Beth Hergenhan shared that her father, John, was an avid gardener who planted thousands of daffodils and cherished perennials in their yard. Since his passing, Beth and her mother, Laura, were looking to thoughtfully downsize the garden beds—and graciously offered to donate these plants to the community.
This was more than a garden share—it was a chance to carry John’s legacy forward, spreading his love of horticulture throughout Fairhaven. Seeing his flowers now settling into new spots all over town is an awesome reminder that generosity—and beauty—can ripple outward in a profound way.
Capping off these re-plantings, the daffodils pushing up within the grounds of Veteran’s Park received much-needed TLC as yet another Lantern crew filled and cleared nine bags of debris to keep the site manicured and, well, glorious. 💫
