I’ve learned that the ideas I can’t stop thinking about are usually worth exploring.

So when I found myself drawn to folk art, I stopped asking so many questions, tuned out a few well-meaning opinions, and just started painting.

Somewhere between painting furniture and running a business, I apparently signed up to become a photographer, videographer, customer service rep, shipping coordinator, accountant, content creator, tech support, and occasional professional Googler.

At this point, I just assume a new side quest will arrive tomorrow.

Name a color that never disappoints. I’ll go first…

This one.

Over the years, I’ve mixed and tweaked countless paint colors, but this custom light blue blend is the one I keep coming back to. It has become one of my signature shades because it always seems to do the same thing—it transforms a piece, makes a statement, and somehow feels both fresh and timeless.

This vintage Century dresser had beautiful bones, but the color brought it to life. Paired with polished brass hardware and floral-lined drawers, it’s exactly the kind of character-filled statement piece I love most.

Proof that sometimes you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You just need a color that never lets you down.
