Welcoming Jeffrey Bowles to the New River Contracting Team as Construction Logistics Coordinator!

Jeffrey Bowles was born and raised in Lester, West Virginia. His decision to enter the field of construction stemmed from a desire to contribute meaningfully by shaping the physical world and realizing clients' visions.

Looking ahead four years, Jeffrey envisions himself continuing his employment at New River Contracting, with the aspiration of serving as a project manager. In this capacity, he aims to contribute to the successful ex*****on of significant projects alongside other project management professionals.

Several personal achievements hold particular significance for Jeffrey. He is proud to be the first member of his family to attain a college degree. Furthermore, he values his academic accomplishments at WVU Tech, having been recognized on the deans' and Presidents' lists. Jeffrey also finds fulfillment in giving back to the community, notably through his role as a high school wrestling coach, where he strives to empower young individuals to achieve their full potential and cultivate self-assurance.

Beyond his professional and community endeavors, Jeffrey holds certification as an open-water scuba diver. Additionally, he deeply appreciates the outdoors, enjoying activities such as hunting and fishing.

Construction Logistics Coordinator

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This individual will play a key role in both estimating construction project costs and coordinating the logistics of materials and equipment to job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction takeoffs, along with hands-on experience in field operations.

Compensation:
$22-25 Per Hour (more with preferred qualifications), holidays, vacation, and health care assistance after initial hiring period

Key Responsibilities

Estimating and Takeoffs:
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction plans and blueprints.
- Prepare cost estimates for materials, needed for various construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to gather all necessary data for accurate takeoffs.

Logistics Coordination:
- Oversee the delivery and transportation of materials and equipment to construction sites.
- Coordinate schedules for timely material deliveries and ensure there are no delays in project timelines.
- Ensure equipment is safely delivered and set up on-site, assisting with on-site logistics as necessary.

Field Work Support:
- Assist in managing on-site activities, ensuring that equipment and materials are properly stored and distributed.
- Work directly with field crews to ensure that the right materials and tools are available as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any logistics-related issues in the field, such as delays or equipment malfunctions.

Communication and Reporting:
- Act as a point of contact between field teams, suppliers, deliveries of supplies, and project managers.
- Prepare regular updates and reports on the status of materials, deliveries, and project costs.
- Maintain accurate records of takeoffs, logistics activities, work in progress, and material usage.
- Safety reporting using established recording methods. Weekly Site inspections and tool talks will be performed and recorded. Monthly and as-needed equipment maintenance reports will be completed.

Requirements:
• Proven experience in construction estimating, takeoffs, and field operations.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and logistics processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with estimating software and project management tools is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate construction equipment as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in both estimating and logistics within a construction environment.
• A background in supply chain management or construction project coordination.
• OSHA certifications or other relevant safety training
• Commercial Drivers License (Class A or Class A with O restriction)
