Creative with clay Visit my website at http://www.creativewithclay.com I love to create unique colorful pottery inspired by Indian fabrics, colors and embroidery.

Having lived in India for a significant part of my life, color has always influenced me especially with my mother running a boutique designing clothes for brides and bridesmaids. My work also reflects my love for Bollywood movies and my fascination with life in India. I strive to give life to clay, decorating it with Indian influences. Finally back from my 2 week workshop with Nancy Crow at the Barn. It has been such a fulfilling experience being a student again and learning from such an amazing teacher. Having never been to art school, I always wanted to know what I was missing. This workshop is a very condensed version of that.
Long hours of sewing, 7am to 9pm almost daily for 2 weeks. A great group of quilters and now friends.
The barn was an amazing studio 70x40 ft with ample space for each student with an 8x8 ft design wall.
Delicious and healthy meals provided everyday by Margaret Wolf.
Nancy Crow’s family was a delight to be around.
And Nancy Crow is a tough teacher and I loved that. No sugar coating anything, telling it as it is.. making you do the work and pushing your limits. There were moments I did well, moments I failed but everything was worth it.
I highly recommend learning from her. I would like to go again.. it is expensive, but well worth it.

I have been working hard. Went through around 18 yards of black and white in the last 5 days. Trader Joes bag half full with just black and white trash. Learning a lot at Nancy Crow’s workshop.

So it begins… Setup for Nancy Crow’s workshop at the barn.

🚅🖼️Have you checked out the Kent Des Moines light rail station directly across from Highline College recently?

There’s a new permanent art installation on the north side of the station’s main entrance called Texture of the Sound, created for people who experience art through touch. Seattle artists Charan Sachar and Sarah Kavage collaborated with Sound Transit and Highline College, including staff members Jenni Sandler and Raman Kaur, along with three students who are blind or have low vision. It’s the first tactile artwork Sound Transit's Art program has developed.

Special thanks to Sound Transit and Highline's Program Manager for Accessible Technology, Michael Hanscom for providing some of these photos.
