Meet the Amazing Melanie Falick
Allow me to introduce you to the incredible Melanie Falick—an author and creator whose passion revolves around crafting beautiful things with her hands. She has penned numerous books, and one that particularly stands out is Making a Life, which I discovered while collaborating with her. It’s truly a must-read!
A Source of Inspiration
Melanie is a constant source of inspiration. I responded to her post on the Beacon page when she was seeking someone to create custom drapes. As someone who loves to create, I couldn't resist reaching out.
I was fortunate enough to be invited into her stunning home, where she was in the midst of renovations. During my visit, she shared a vintage bedspread that had been a gift from her mother—a gorgeous piece from India. She asked if I could transform it into a few shades, and I eagerly accepted the challenge.
The Creative Challenge
The task proved to be quite tricky, given the intricate cutouts in the fabric. I had to ensure the fabric lay perfectly.
There’s nothing quite like a custom project to brighten up a space, and I cherish the thought that this lovely throw could be repurposed in such a meaningful way.
