This Mother's Day, we're celebrating the real pool managers.
You know who we're talking about. The one who reminds everyone about sunscreen for the fifth time. The one who somehow knows which kid has been underwater for exactly 32 seconds. The one who can spot a forgotten towel from 50 feet away and keeps the first aid kit stocked even though nobody remembers the last time we actually needed it.
While we handle the chemicals, skimming, and equipment maintenance, moms handle everything else. The snack rotation. The friend coordination. The "no running" announcements that somehow never quite stick. The subtle art of making sure everyone gets out of the pool before their fingers turn into raisins.
To every mom who's turned a backyard pool into summer headquarters, who's mastered the balance between fun and safety, and who somehow makes it all look effortless while managing a thousand other things, we see you.
This weekend, maybe someone else can handle pool duty. You've earned a break.
