Forney/Crandall/Kaufman friends!!! I got the pleasure of supporting two small businesses today who also happen to only be a few houses down from each other.

peacecoffeehouse Peace Coffee House offers multiple different coffee drinks and WOW I literally drank all of my cookie butter latte before getting down the street to the next small business. Her brownies are also AMAZING! She will be at Kaufman County Farmer's Market for several markets before Thanksgiving! She also delivers to Forney!! (Bless) My advice is to get more than one coffee because yours will be gone in two seconds. 😉 Thanks Abigail!! So kind!!

I then went to Three Little Crumbs Homeschool Bakery and connected with Lyndsey immediately. SO kind and thoughtful. We talked about business, homeschooling, and were just able to bounce ideas off of each other. She was also so generous and gave me all the different flavor cake pops she had today plus a mini cake. I’ve only had the s’mores cake pop so far and OMG so good, she even puts marshmallow and chocolate insideeeee. Thank you Lyndsey!!

So thankful for these small businesses and love supporting each other. I need all my fellow mom friends in the area to go support 🫶🏼💙

LONG read but IMPORTANT! I have been making homemade vanilla extract and paste for myself for 4+ years and using it in my baked goods. Homemade vanilla extract truly needs a whole YEAR to….extract! I had to start my homemade vanilla extract a year before I officially started my business to have supply available. I invested in myself and prayed that people would be interested in homemade vanilla. I truly am small batch because when I sell out of vanilla extract, that’s it! It’s gone until the next batch is finished. I can’t rush time. I start a specific number of ounces of extract about every two months so that I can have some available. However, I didn’t know how much extract at once I should be making. I have since upped the amount of ounces each month to have a larger supply but again, it’s going to take time until it’s finished.

So, the below photos are to hopefully show a visual process of the extraction. The dark colored bottles is all the yummy vanilla goodness and the lighter colored bottles that are see through are not even close to being done. The dark extract bottles are true pure vanilla extract while the light colored see through bottles are still only vanilla flavored vodka. If someone is trying to sell you vanilla that looks like that, they are not extracting their vanilla long enough and you would be purchasing vanilla flavored vodka instead of pure vanilla extract. This may not be interesting to most, but I just want you all to understand why a lot of my vanilla extract is not regularly stocked in the stores or disappears off the shelves quickly and does not make a quick return.

NOTE: This isn’t even all of my vanilla stash that I have extracting as well. I have an extra 200+oz on top of this photo currently extracting as well because I believe homemade tastes BETTER. Stores typically sell vanilla extract with added water and it’s not needed and dilutes the vanilla flavor!

My homemade vanilla paste is GREAT to use while waiting for homemade extract and for some desserts, it’s even better! Paste is used at a 1:1 ratio extract:paste.
