I’m having a really hard time finding the words for this one, but I hope I’ve done my part. Today, Delta B**r Lab served its last pour, and I am both incredibly proud to have been a small part of its legacy and profoundly sad to say goodbye.
Over the years, crafted. has been part of so many wonderful markets at Delta, thanks to Madison Makers Market. It was Dog Days of Summer, Deltaween (where it was ALWAYS a spooky good time)…and all the other Delta markets over the years. And, I certainly can’t forget Crafty Connect’s Hippie Holiday Market…
But Delta was so much more than a place where I set up my little business. We’ve spent countless evenings of Drag BINGO, creating projects alongside local makers, and eating our fair share of pizza and popcorn. We’ve enjoyed everything from orange soda to the richest porters, with a dill pickle pour or two thrown in for good measure. Hell, we even celebrated an anniversary with a lobster (roll) dinner there.
And one of my signs even found a home on the shelves of the taproom. I don’t think I ever properly expressed just how much that meant to me. To have something I created become a tiny part of a place that meant so much to so many people was an incredible feeling.
That’s what made Delta special. It was never just about the b**r. It was about the people, the connections, the generosity, the inclusivity, and the genuine commitment to building community. It was a place where you could show up exactly as you were and feel like you belonged. I’m going to miss the markets, the familiar faces, the laughter, the ridiculous bingo nights, and the feeling of walking through those doors and knowing we were somewhere good.
To everyone who made Delta B**r Lab what it was, thank you. Thank you for welcoming makers, supporting small businesses, celebrating creativity, embracing the wonderfully weird, and giving so many of us a place to gather and belong.
I’m so proud that crafted. got to be a little part of your story, and even more grateful that Delta became part of my personal life, too. Goodbye, friends. You poured so much more than b**r. You poured your hearts into this community, and we felt it. You will be so very missed.
