I just wanted to share this! My albo monstera put put a pure white leave! She's one of my favorites in my collection. The time has come ✂️✂️✂️. At least this happened in the spring no better time to prune her back in hopes of getting more green in her next leaves! She's a Extremely Albo monstera Borsigiana! I've maintained her gorgouse White varigation for sometime! I keep in an encloser at 75° - 80° + and humidity at 80 +!
For some that might not know Albo plants lack pigment know as chlorophyll! Plants need chlorophyll inorder to absorb nutrients from the sun, substrate and fertilizer we feed them. Even though she is extremely white those leaves still have green so she can carry out photosynthesis! Unfortunately with this leave being pure white it won't be able to carry out photosynthesis! This leave of course is beautiful but it won't last long before it dies! So to keep her healthy and thriving I need to cut her back to where she has more green in her stem in hopes of her next leave having more green! So fingers crossed 🤞
