My husband is getting out of the Army, so we are starting to save for when we move in a few months šŸ„³

For a limited time, I will be drawing 4x6 and 5x7 portraits for $50 and my larger sizes(pencil only) will be half off! The $50 portraits will need to be one subject only with a minimal background. More subjects can be added for $25 more. Iā€™ve got my drawing speed down to about a week, so turnaround times will be speedy. Shipping will be added to the total price, but it usually costs no more than $10!

I will be pausing my painting commissions that are either larger than 4x6 or ornaments for a little while because they take me some time to do. Paintings will remain the same price, but who doesnā€™t love early Christmas shopping? Christmas in July, anyone? šŸ˜‚šŸŽ„

Here are my current commission prices!(Ornament prices are a few posts back)

To order, simply message me what size/medium you would like and a few reference pictures to choose from. I use Artist Loft brand level 2 canvases which are ready to hang when finished, and professional quality paint and pencils. I typically paint the edges of my paintings black to give a more seamless look if you choose not to frame your piece. Portraits typically take me a month to complete depending on detail, background, number of subjects, etc.. I accept most mobile payment apps and take half of the total price upon ordering, and the other half+shipping upon completion. This helps me order necessary supplies and also makes it easier for you!

How to choose a great reference photo for a portrait:

1. First, ensure that your image is high quality with clearly visible details.
2. Make sure your image has good lighting without heavy shadows covering details of the subject.
3. For a front-facing portrait, ensure that the face and neck of the subject are facing the camera at eye level.

If your image doesnā€™t meet this criteria, donā€™t panic! I can always work with whatever you have. There is almost always a tiny bit of improv in the process. These tips make the process of painting/drawing more seamless with less guesswork, but I can refer to more than one picture for details! I can also adjust things like collars, clothing, gray fur, etc.. I also send progress pictures as I paint to keep you updated!

Honestly, I think the black-and-white of colored pencils looks more special, but thatā€™s just me! These drawing also come together a bit faster because I am not limited to working at my easel. Wanting to give a personalized and invaluable gift for the animal lover in your life? I offer mini portraits of pets and people/kids on natural wood slice ornaments! I do two different styles. One uses an abstracted rainbow of colors and the other uses natural ones. Both styles have realistic details.

I charge $50 per ornament up until November 1st if it needs to be done by Christmas, and $75 after November 1st. Holidays are my busiest times, so it is best to get your order in quick so that it is earlier in my lineup! I am so excited to kick off my official art page! šŸ„³

I have been doing arts and crafts since I was able to pick up a pencil, and fell in love with painting nails in middle school. My art training is limited to 4 hour nail painting sessions at my familyā€™s kitchen table during the KC Chiefā€™s game on Sundayā€™s growing up, and two intro to art classes in high school and college.

My first real painting was of my cousinā€™s dog, Max, whom I painted for fun while I was nannying my baby cousin after I graduated from high school. Since then, Iā€™ve been slowly building my portfolio through commissions from family and friends who have trusted me while I was learning through experience. This page has been years in the making. Thank you to every person who has supported my work along the way. Every painting and drawing that I have ever made holds a special place in my heart and I never forget a petā€™s name ā¤ļø
