Got shade? Inland Sea Oats is an attractive native grass for shade. It provides texture, movement and vertical interest. Birds enjoy the seeds and it is a larval host plant to skipper butterflies.

Frogfruit (Phyla nodiflora) is an awesome ground cover that is nectar source for bees and butterflies as well as larval host for Phaon Crescent, Buckeye and White Peacock butterflies. It is great for soil erosion control. It works very well draping over retaining walls, boulders or in containers.

I took this photo of Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium) today because it is such a striking, structural plant. A bold statement or a focal point in a garden. The blooms are very intricate if you look up close. And native bees love it. It is also a larva host plant. Doesn't get much better than that.
