Pulled some yellow granex (Vidalia type) onions today. We'll cure them for several days, the dirt will dry, we'll clean them up and then they'll be ready for your favorite Vidalia onion recipes! These are small, sweet onions perfect for recipes so you don't have half an onion lost in your fridge for weeks 🤣

Anyone who’s spent time outdoors lately can tell you the lovebugs are out!

Lovebugs do not pose a threat to your garden or plants, but they can damage your vehicle if not properly cleaned according to AgCenter entomologist Aaron Ashbrook.

When lovebugs hit your vehicle, the fluids left behind can corrode paint over time. If you notice lovebugs on your car after driving, wash them off as soon as possible using soapy water to help prevent damage to your paint.

🐍 Meet Gerdie, Our Garden Guardian

Out in one of our raised beds lives a quiet little helper we’ve come to appreciate - Gerdie the Eastern Garter Snake.

Gerdie has lived in our raised bed for a while now, and we’re happy to share the space. She’s gentle, curious, and absolutely fantastic at keeping the garden balanced. Around here, she helps by snacking on slugs, crickets, and the occasional mouse--nature’s pest control at its finest.

A few fun facts about our girl:
• She’s totally harmless (to humans) and prefers peace over drama
• She loves a warm patch of sunlight on a cool morning
• She minds her business and keeps the garden ecosystem humming

We don’t handle her or disturb her; she’s simply one of the many wild neighbors that share this land with us. Gerdie’s presence is a reminder that even the smallest creatures contribute to the health of a farm, keeping populations in balance.

Here’s to the quiet helpers who make the soil richer, the beds livelier, and the world a little more interesting.

Hey friends,

We're starting off the season at farmers market like a damp firecracker 😂 The drought (I know we just had a week of rain) has put us way behind on our veggies. However, we'll still be at Tylertown Farmers' Market tomorrow with a limited supply of romaine lettuce, white and red potatoes, and a few shallots.

Come on out and check out the other vendors, too! Hope to see you all there!

🌽🌿 Tylertown Farmers Market Returns! 🌿🌽

Hey friends! We’re excited to share that the Tylertown Farmers' Market is officially back — every Tuesday, May through November, inside the Ag Heritage Building.
We can’t wait to see everyone again and bring a clean, organically grown option for your local veggies all season long. Fresh, chemical free, Mississippi grown goodness… that’s what we’re all about.

To make things easy, be sure to follow our page. We’ll post what we’re bringing to market the day before, along with what’s available at the farmstand throughout the week. You can also pick up a book or prayer journal from local author Trista Herring Baughman. Help spread the word and share this with your friends!

Thank you for supporting small farms and local food. We’re looking forward to a great season with y’all! 🌱
