🚨 SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE & TEMPORARY STORM SHELTER OPENING 🚨
The National Weather Service has upgraded Carroll County to a Level 3 (Enhanced Risk) out of 5 for severe weather overnight tonight into early Monday morning.
A line of thunderstorms is expected to move across our area after midnight, bringing the potential for:
🌬️ Damaging winds over 70 mph
🌪️ Isolated tornadoes
🧊 Hail up to quarter size
Because of this upgrade and the potential for severe storms, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Management is opening a temporary storm shelter for residents who feel unsafe in their current housing situation.
📍 Location:
Sheriff’s Office Training Room
997 Newnan Road, Carrollton
(Former West Georgia Technical College)
Located at the back of the building on the lower level.
⏰ Shelter Hours:
Opening 10:00 PM tonight and remaining open until the severe weather threat passes.
This location will serve as a safe place to ride out the storms. There will be plenty of space available for seating.

⚠️ Important Information:
• This building does not have a generator. If power is lost, the shelter will be without electricity.
• Please bring a flashlight and ensure your phones/devices are fully charged before arriving.
🐾 Pets:
Pets are welcome but must be in a secure carrier or crate.
We encourage all residents to monitor weather updates throughout the night and have multiple ways to receive warnings. Please take this storm threat seriously and make preparations now.
