Sometimes the plants aren't your answer for an entryway. Trees get too tall, shrubs need trimming & flowers 🌺 get get eaten. Then we suggest large glazed pots. The three on left are plumbed with a drip tube up through the drainage hole so they can be automatically watered. The large vessel on the right side is a disappearing fountain.

Season color changeout time. Pansies, kale & dianthus. 4.0 does wedding all year long, so I decided to overseed with rye grass for the winter & early spring in the wedding area. In the last picture you can see the dormant turf beyond the limestone blocks. Rye grass brightens the whole place up.

Just about to finish this landscape job. Slope behind property funneled water across backyard through side yard out the front of property when it rains. Designed dry creek bed to move water when it rains through yard, terminating at street with a large rock bed to distribute water over a large area so we don't get a wash out. Small turf area in front to soften rock on other side of front. Stepping stones bridge patio to patio in back. All beds utilize drip irrigation, and turf low angle spray heads. A mixture of perennial & evergreen plants in beds. Trees are Lacy oaks, Possumhaw holly, Desert Willow, & Yaupon holly. Turf is Floritam St. Augustine.

Brown Patch, fungal disease loves this kind of weather! Cool nights, rain or heavy dew. Set your sprinklers to come on toward morning so the sun can dry the grass blades. It is when the grass is wet for a prolonged time in association with cool temperatures this becomes a problem.

Keep watering your grass and beds, it's cheaper than replacing everything. We are having a normal summer this year!

Now is the time to put down pre-emergent herbicides. These dissolve in the soil and help prevent germination of spring & summer weeds.....
most notably the dreaded grass bur!
