The great room of our black barn project in Venice is oriented along the short side of the barndominium structure from end to end, allowing it to face the canal on the property and enjoy a grand double storey sloping ceiling.

A Barndominium typically utilizes PEMB framing (Pre Engineered Metal Building) commonly used in warehouses for its large span which eliminates the need for columns in the middle of the space. With our project we never wanted to mask the true identity of the structure but rather wanted to celebrate it. We left all the metal framing exposed and love how this hallway is beautifully framed by one of the structural members
