MOWER HEIGHT....Let's talk about why the height of your grass matters!
Texas is known for its extreme heat every Summer, and those temperatures are coming upon us now! During the hottest months (July, August, and September), many lawns will get scorched and browned from the heat. But there is a way to keep a green and lush lawn even with the brutal Texas heat and city water restrictions!
In order for grass to survive the heat of the summer, it needs to be cut at a higher height so that it will produce the energy to grow deep roots and maintain a cooler soil. These deep roots will help your grass remain healthy and green and the cooler soil will help the grass not get burnt!
We raise our mower height to 3" at this time every season! We want your grass to still be nice and green even during the Summer months in Texas! With that said, your lawn might have some low spots that won't cut the first time mowing at 3". This might result in a mow that looks a little uneven. But don't worry, the low spots should catch up in a week during this time of extreme grass growth! It should begin mowing evenly again and remain healthy even when it gets to 100 degrees!
Enjoy the summer heat and still be able to walk barefoot on your grass!
