This Small Extendable Bench is a Shorter version of the bench I had designed a while back for my dining room set. When closed, it is meant to save space and allow one person to sit on it, but when space is needed to fit more people, the bench can easily extend to accommodate 1 more person. Though it is a simple design, it is very effective and can be made on a variety of different sizes to best fit any table.

A few months ago, I was approached by a friend of mine who had seen the work we have done here on Mig Builds and was interested in a having some work done.

After asking me some questions and getting a quote it wasn't long before I found out that this restoration project will be unlike any of the ones I've done before. After talking some more, I found out that this dresser belonged to his dad and has been in the family for decades. Every scratch, chip, and dent has been accumulated over many years some made by my friend when he was toddler and others by his siblings.

After asking him why he wanted to get it refurbished, it was becuase his father had passed away a few months ago and this dresser brings many memories of his dad and wanted me to fix it up and make it new again so he can keep it in the family for many more years to come.

The significance of this dresser truly makes it stand out, not only to myself, but to the family it belongs to. The faces of the family once they got to see it restored to its former glory is the reason I love working with projects like these and hope people see the importance of why some furniture is best kept and repaired rather than being dumped in a land fill.

It is not secret that we here at Mig Builds are big fans of Texas. But is it the best state in the union? Maybe? Maybe not? We say yes, so this post is to show off some of the projects dedicated to our home state and who they were made for.

1. This wooden Texas shaped clock was made as a Christmas gift for the in-laws who share our love for Texas.

2. This custom Texas wall decor was a gift my for my girlfriend's sister who loves all things Texas

A little late in the year, but this outdoor joy sign was made for a client just before Chrismas of 2024.

Made from plywood, 2x4's, and multiple layers of weather resistance paint, this "JOY" sign features Mary and Joseph kneeling in prayer over baby Jesus highlighting the reason why we celebrate this joyous holiday.

This sign was hand drawn, hand cut, and handmade. Though this project was not as elaborate as other projects I have done, I was proud of the final result and the client was pleased with the quality of the work.

Say hello to the newest addition of my man-cave!

Those of you who know me, you all know I have a pool table in my garage, but with some spare wood and help from some post-chrismas homedepot giftcards, I was able to build a bar, dart board rig, and cue holders to increase the "fun" factor of my garage/ man-cave. And after a night of partying, I can safely say that this investment was a success and well worth the time it took to build.

The bar took a couple of days and everything else only took an hour. This project was by far one of my most exciting and entertaining, I'm very broad of how it came out and am looking forward to many more parties to come!
