An elderly lady reached out yesterday after running out of firewood and not being able to find anyone who could deliver on short notice. We loaded up and brought the wood out, and her two older sons helped stack it.

⚠️ Winter Weather Update ⚠️
We’re watching incoming wintry weather closely. A Winter Storm Watch/Warning is in effect for our area through Monday, with freezing rain, sleet, and ice accumulation possible, especially today Sunday into early next week. Ice could build up enough to weigh down tree limbs and power lines.

Ice storms are different from snow, even a little ice can put tens of thousands of extra pounds of weight on trees. Branches and whole trees can break suddenly, and that puts your home and property at risk.

Important reminder:
After storms, you’ll see lots of posts from landscapers, fence crews, weekend handymen, and others saying they can handle tree work. Some mean well, but storm-damaged trees are dangerous and unpredictable, especially if they’re near or on your house.

Many small crews don’t have the right equipment or insurance experience to safely handle these situations, and they may not know how to work with your insurance company.

If a tree is on your home or creating a hazard, let a qualified professional assess it. A proper contractor will:
• Provide a written agreement
• Have the right equipment and training
• Understand insurance storm work
• Not pressure you with gimmicks or unrealistic promises

This tree was a future disaster waiting to happen.

This large vine-covered tree was removed in an open area where a home will be built.
Power lines were directly behind the tree, so controlled felling was required to prevent damage.

Stump removal for a new subdivision sidewalk.

This is full stump removal, not stump grinding.
We excavate the entire stump and root ball to allow for proper sidewalk installation and compaction.

This client had to hire us to haul away a wood chip load dumped by another tree company.

What was supposed to be “mulch” was a mess, pine needles, sticks, and even fencing material mixed in. That stuff doesn’t belong in landscaping beds, and homeowners shouldn’t be stuck dealing with it.

If you’re a tree company delivering chips to customers, do better. Wood chips should be usable, clean, and safe, not a cleanup problem.

The last photo shows our wood chips. Clean, consistent, and free of needles, sticks, or debris. That’s the difference between dull blades on a small chipper and clean cuts from a large commercial chipper.
