This is my fourth and final year in the Florida Drop program. The question is not will I completely retire this school year, but when will I completely retire this school year? When I do completely retire, then I will open up Florida Past for Daily Business. I'll also update this site as these events occur.

I have decided to enter the drop program for employees in the Florida Retirement System who are retiring, but still wish to continue to work. In August, I will start my third year in the drop program. While I am not planning on working a full five extra years after my retirement, one never knows.

At the end of this school year (2017-18) I can retire with a full pension from the state of Florida, or I could work another 8 years for the state of Florida as a teacher. That 8 more years isn't out of the question, but I am now looking hard at where I would locate my business. St. Petersburg is probably the best market for it. It is where I have lived the longest. And, I have family there. Ft. Pierce is the place that I have lived longest next to St. Petersburg. I also have friends there, but I am not sure if the market for my business is there. Then there is St. Augustine. I have lived there, and it interests me. Is it a good market for my business?. Again , I don't know yet.

So, what is this website about? Soon I will have enough years to retire as a teacher from the State of Florida. I'll be to young though to stop working. I am also sick and tired of working for pin head bosses. I therefore intend to start my own business and be the pin head boss. I have written a business plan, set up Florida Past, LLC and now I have set up this page for that business.
