Quantrac Release 12 Revision 12D has been published and is being installed on clients' computers. This revision included many new features such as improved Qmail, Text Messaging, intuitive Accounts Receivable, and many more new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Quantrac Revision 11X-739 has been finished and beta tested at several sites. Check Help:Abou and click the "Check Workstation Revision to see if your Quantrac needs to be updated. If it does, just send an email to me ([email protected]) to arrange for the update.

Working hard and long on a new Revision. This new revision has some Security Permissions changes, some Scheduler speed-ups, bug fixes, and a host of new features/improvements.

Working on this new app got me to thinking about 1992 when Quantrac came alive. That was 28 years ago. many of our original clients are still with us. And most of our users that purchased over the decades are also still our Quantrac friends.

Thinking back to those early days, I traveled the USA to go to dealer meetings, Carrier distributor meetings and Carrier factory meetings. (at the same time, I was also the owner/operator of Airco Comfort Systems. My plate was pretty full! I sold Airco and retired from active HVAC ownership in 1908. But enjoy working Quantrac.

I remember in 1992 through 1995 having to show prospective users how to use the computer mouse. REALLY!
HVAC dealerships were just beginning to computerize and Windows programs for us were rare. In fact, Quantrac was the first and only true Windows application for HVAC dealership for many years.

A lot has happened since then. Most HVAC offices are now computerized. Almost everyone knows how to hold and use a mouse. 😷.
Most of our internal activities are the creation of new Revisions and servicing our many subscribers. New customers are few and far between since most offices now have computerization. So our dedication is to technical support and new revisions/features. New sales are almost always returning customers that tried brand X or Y and want to come back. I welcome them with open arms and do everything possible to make the transition back to Quantrac as easy as possible. But it's fun . . it's what I do

In Quantrac, go to Help:About and check your workstations' Revision. Check to make sure that you're on the latest Revision.
As many know, Quantrac response times on Windows 10 with the latest updates has become a bit sluggish. Quantrac hasn't changed, but Windows HAS! We've discovered that a Windows Update this year has set the buffer size that Quantrac uses to ZERO! Why? We don't know!

If your Windows 10 is up to date, you may be suffering slow Quantrac response times. If it isn't up to date, your Quantrac is probably still snappy fast as always.

We very recently have found a way to circumvent this Windows change to make Quantrac snappy fast again like it always has been. When implemented, a new Revision will be available.

Go to Quantrac's Help:About and check often for new Revisions. When we have completed and published a new Revision, our subscribers get the new stuff at no cost at all. Our next Revision (due to be published very soon) addresses the change in Windows that made Quantrac queries run slowly. Stay Tuned!

Many of our Quantrac users are wanting larger forms and bigger font sizes. We designed Quantrac to work well with 15" and 17" monitors.
Now, since 21" monitors are being used more and more, maybe it's time to increase forms and font size. But I need to know if users are still on 15" monitors. If we resize forms, they won't fit on low resolution 15" monitors. Anyone still using 15" monitors?
Or should we ask for a head count of those that want larger forms.

Many of our subscribers' offices are now on Revision 11T, Build -724. We put a lot of new features into it that they're enjoying. At the same time, we're hard at work on Release 12 using a newer and stable Microsoft Access engine. Who will be the first to get it? When it's published (thinking sometime this month) subscribers will get it for free.

Release 11 Revision 11T-724 has been published and is available to all Quantrac users. Subscribers can have this new revision at no charge. We are constantly working to update Quantrac through published revisions and hope that all users wish to stay current. This revision was created to address an error that Microsoft induced in one of their automatic updates on or about December 3rd. Several clients who were not having any problems contacted us on the same day with the same problem (Unable to email Service Tickets, Sales Quotes, or Sales Jobcosts). We re-programed the
function in Quantrac to utilize Adobe's "Send as Attachment".
It has been installed on over 3 dozen workstations so far without problems. Also, new features have been added that you'll enjoy.
