Gahhhhh!! Book 2 is officially on its way to becoming a real thing!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Tilly and the Space Between will be the next book in The Adventures of Tilly the Candle Camper children’s book series. 🥹🥹🥹

Recently, Izzy and I were working a Tilly Pour Party together, and while I was explaining fragrance oils to some kids, I suddenly stopped and said, “OMG. I have to tell Maya and Lily about this for the next book!” 😅

So naturally, my brain went into overdrive.

I started jotting down ideas, themes, characters, and all kinds of notes (most of which only make sense to me 😂), then met with Maya over Marco Polo. She’s out of state this summer for an internship, and now she gets the fun job of taking my scattered thoughts and turning them into an actual brilliant story.

Lily is home for the summer, so we got to meet in person and dream about illustration ideas together. She’s also working on the Spanish edition illustrations for Tilly y el brillo interior, which makes me so happy. 🥹

I don’t want to give too much away yet, but this story explores connection, belonging, and the beautiful things that happen when we make space for one another. 💛✨

Honestly, I’m just so excited.

You know that feeling when you’re doing something that feels exactly like what you were created to do? Like your heart is so full it might burst?

That’s how I feel right now.

A few years ago, when I was deep in candle wax in my dining room 🤪, if you told me I’d be visiting schools as a children’s book creator, I would have laughed and asked if you had the wrong Jenni. 😅

But life has a funny way of bringing us back to the things we love.

Before Illuminate Space, I spent years working with young children through my home daycare and as a children’s ministry director. Helping kids discover their creativity and worth has always been one of my favorite things.

Now I get to share that joy through Tilly and the Glow Within. ✨📚

I’m excited to officially begin offering author visits for schools, libraries, literacy events, homeschool groups, and family programs!

Students can enjoy:

One thing I’ve realized is that people hear “private party” and automatically picture a huge group.

But some of my favorite candle bar experiences have been much smaller.

For Mother’s Day, I gifted my mom a private candle bar session. It ended up being just me, my mom, and my dad spending a couple of hours together creating candles and making memories.

No birthday.
No shower.
No big event.

Just intentional time together.

If you’ve ever wished you could have the warehouse all to yourself for a girls’ day, mother-daughter outing, date night, family experience, or creative afternoon with a friend, that’s absolutely something we offer. ✨

I have a helper here with me today! My new sophomore(!) youngest son Simon is here. He takes frequent breaks, but that’s okay that’s what summer is for. I’m just honored he wanted to spend the day with me 🥰 (and earn those new shoes 😉)

Obsessed with my new dress I found thrifting, too! I love to find quirky things, and this felt like GOLD.

I was reflecting in my journal this morning about how much I love this time of year. It brings such a fresh excitement and energy, mixed with that little twinge of sadness that comes at the end of an era…a school year, a season, a chapter of life.

Not a bad sadness, a grateful sadness (do you get those sads too?!). The kind that reminds you something mattered.

We have another graduate in the Zielke household this year, which means somehow we now have two adult children 😭 That feels so bizarre because I still feel like I just graduated myself. :) :)

I was listening to my 90s playlist (the best, obviously), and the lyric from Closing Time came on:
“every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” 💓💥💓

And wow. I’ve always loved that line. It feels so beautiful and true.
I’m grateful for it all: the endings, the beginnings, and all the in-between moments.

And I’m grateful for you 💛
