"Do I need to be home when you service my mower?"

The answer is usually no.

One of the biggest advantages of Mobile Mower Clinic LLC is convenience. As long as your equipment is accessible and we've discussed the work ahead of time, I can complete most maintenance and repair services while you're at work, running errands, or spending time with your family.

Here's how simple it is:

• Schedule your appointment • Leave the equipment accessible • I arrive and complete the service on-site • Photos and updates are provided as needed • When the work is complete, your invoice is sent by text or email • Payment can be made electronically, by check, or cash

No loading ramps. No trailers. No waiting weeks for shop turnaround times. No rearranging your day to sit around and wait.

My goal is to make maintaining your equipment as easy and hassle-free as possible while still providing professional, high-quality service right at your home.

That's the convenience of mobile service.

Hydrostatic Transmissions Need Maintenance Too

While servicing this zero-turn mower, one thing became immediately obvious: the hydrostatic transmission filters appeared to be original.

The filters were heavily rusted, and there was no evidence that the hydro system had ever been serviced.

Many mower owners are diligent about changing engine oil but completely overlook the hydrostatic transmissions underneath the seat. That's a costly mistake because the hydro system is often one of the most expensive components on the entire machine.

Just like an engine, hydrostatic transmissions rely on clean oil and proper filtration. As fluid ages, it breaks down, contamination builds up, and internal components begin to wear. Ignoring hydro maintenance can lead to poor performance, excessive heat, premature wear, and eventually transmission failure.

The good news is that routine hydro service is far less expensive than replacing a transmission.

Preventive maintenance isn't just about the engine. Keeping up with hydro service can add years to the life of your mower and help avoid expensive repairs down the road.

Maintenance Means Doing the Whole Job

This batwing finish mower is used to maintain the grounds of an event venue, where reliability matters. When equipment goes down, the grass doesn't stop growing and the work doesn't wait.

One thing I strongly believe in is avoiding "minimum maintenance." When one belt has failed, the others have often seen the same hours, the same wear, and the same conditions.

Rather than replacing only the broken belt and hoping for the best, this mower received a complete set of new belts. It's a little more investment up front, but it greatly reduces the chances of another belt failure a week or two later.

Too often, equipment owners end up paying twice: once for the repair, and again for the next worn-out belt that decides its time is up. Replacing all the belts at the same time helps keep the machine reliable and minimizes future downtime.

Preventive maintenance isn't about spending more money. It's about spending it wisely and keeping equipment working when you need it most.

Learning the Trade, One Mower at a Time

One of the best parts of owning a small business is being able to share it with the next generation.

This summer, my youngest son, Callen, has been spending time alongside me learning the ins and outs of small engine repair and equipment maintenance. From cleaning equipment and blowing off mower decks to helping with inspections and learning how machines work, he's getting a firsthand look at what it takes to keep equipment running.

There's more to this trade than turning wrenches. It takes patience, problem-solving, attention to detail, and pride in doing the job right. Those are lessons that carry far beyond lawn equipment.

I'm proud of the work he's putting in and the interest he's showing. Every skill starts somewhere, and summer is a great time to learn.

What do tire upgrades actually solve?

Not every mower is used on a manicured lawn. This John Deere is being used for land maintenance and brush clearing, and the factory turf tires simply weren't up to the job.

Constant encounters with thorns, sticks, roots, stumps, and rough terrain were leading to repeated punctures and downtime. The solution was a set of more aggressive tires designed to handle harsher conditions while providing better traction in loose ground.

The right tire isn't about looks—it's about matching the equipment to the work being done. In this case, fewer flats means more time working and less time making repairs.

If you're constantly fighting traction issues, sidewall damage, or recurring flats, it may be time to look at tire options instead of replacing another tube.

This is what real repairs look like.

Most people only see the finished product—a mower that starts, runs, cuts, and goes back to work. What they don't see is the time spent underneath the machine diagnosing problems, removing damaged parts, and putting everything back together correctly.

This John Deere needed a new rock shaft and deck lift arms after the originals sheared off. It's not a glamorous repair, and it's certainly not one that can be fixed with a can of spray lubricant and a few zip ties.

The reality is that keeping equipment working takes more than changing oil and sharpening blades. Sometimes it means crawling underneath a machine, getting dirty, and tackling the repairs that keep it operating the way it should.

At Mobile Mower Clinic LLC, that's exactly what we do. Whether it's routine maintenance or a major repair, we bring the tools, parts, and experience directly to your property so you can get back to work.

What does the inside of YOUR fuel tank look like?

This is the inside of a 30" Toro mower fuel tank before and after cleaning.

Picture #1 — crystallized ethanol buildup, contamination, and yes… even an insect hanging out in the bottom of the tank.

Picture #2 — clean, flushed out, and ready to go back into service.

Modern fuel doesn't do equipment any favors when it sits.

Ethanol buildup, moisture, debris, and contamination can lead to:

• Hard starting
• Surging / poor running
• Carburetor issues
• Fuel delivery problems
• Expensive repairs that could've been avoided

Sometimes the problem isn't the carburetor itself… it's what’s feeding it.

If your mower has been sitting, running poorly, or hasn't had attention in a while, it may be worth asking what the inside of your fuel system actually looks like.
