Ok...so as yall know 2 days after we got 11 Coturnix Quail we had a snake take out 6 of them. I took the carcasses to our compost pile in the woods. We got 7 Egyptian Red Coturnix Quail to replace them...leaving us 12 total. So Holly gets home last night and finds one of the standard Coturnix got out...or so she thought. I get home and find we now have 13 quail... So this little guy in the pic apparently wasn't dead, woke back up and had a two day adventure to find his flock!!

So we took a day trip to the beach with the boys, got home at 8pm...without a word we all started doing farm chores lol....

So we took a day trip to the beach with the boys, got home at 8pm...without a word we all started doing farm chores lol. I climbed on Rusty (the 1949 John Deere M) to get some mowing done, Holly went to watering, the oldest started the burn pile lol.

New arrivals! 5 week old Jumbo Egyptian Red Coturnix Quail. Now we're proud to have 7 Egyptian and 5 standard Coturnix.

Well we found out the unpleasant way that the quail cage is not snake 🐍 proof.

Here comes round 2! Going 300ft deep and praying hard for water! Drilling starts tomorrow morning.
