Pigs tend to look the same when they're covered in mud...

Daisy (not Calendula) farrowed beautifully today, adding 10 more piglets to the mix. Yesterday I had thought it was Daisy farrowing, but she wasn't acting like her sweet self. For example if you touch Daisies belly she flops over for belly rubs. And yesterday Calendula (not Daisy) did not flop. Today while nesting Daisy cleaned all the mud off and revealed herself. She also presented as Daisy by laying her head on my leg for pets and gladly laying down for belly rubs. She also had no problems with me assisting with the births. Which I'm relieved she stayed her sweet self during farrowing. One more litter to go!

*EDIT* *UPDATE* The past few days have been extremely hot. All the expecting gilts spent most of their time in the mud hole. And were completely covered in mud. Which means I had a hard time telling them apart. That being said...yesterday CALENDULA farrowed 8 piglets. DAISY is currently in labor.

CALENDULA decided she wanted to farrow outside this morning. Which made for an eventful morning. Adding 8 more piglets for a total of 41 piglets born this week on the farm. We still have Baby's Breath and DAISYdue any day now, with Petunia farrowing in July.

Yes...that's more than 8 piglets on her. All the moms are milk sharing and taking turns nursing all the babies. I'm kinda digging this co-parenting they have going on.

Pansy gave us our 3rd litter in 4 days today. Our biggest to date on the farm farting (litteraly) out a whopping 13 piglets! It was dark after all were delivered and will have pics up tomorrow. Pansy was a chompy stinker and wanted no help from me at all. She did beautifully on her own.

Message us for availability.

Belladonna coming in with 11 piglets in this week's 2nd litter of Old Spot/Berkshire/Kune Kune cross! Pretty relieved she handled it all on her own, as she bit my 🍑 this morning. All babies are doing well.

*Once we get through all farrowings we will list availability for feeder pigs and grow outs. If you would like to be put on a list please let us know.

To say we have been busy busy the past few months is an understatement. And it looks like the next few months will be even busier. 118 days ago we put Frank our Kune Kune boar in with our Old Spot/ Berkshire cross gilts. Today Sweet Pea had the first of SIX litters of piglets due this week. Stay tuned for availability.

Sometimes things don't go as we plan on the farm and today Bacon Bit passed away. I don't usually get attached to our pigs, but this one stings a bit. I was super hopeful for her, but unfortunately there was nothing that we could do. Farm life is hard sometimes. It's the hard things that are worth the most though.

Bacon Bit is the tiniest pig to date on our farm. She's spunky and gets up to see us every time we go to their pen. She's nursing well and plays with her litter mates.
