My Thrifty House

My Thrifty House Sharing my thrifty lifestyle through creative repurposing, cooking & shopping. Hello friends and welcome to My Thrifty House.

My name is Denise Bryant and I am so excited to share my creative, thrifty lifestyle with all of you. As a military spouse and mother to 4 children, I have spent many years moving coast to coast while living on a tight, single income budget. Although we are now retired from the Navy and I work full time, my creative thrifty lifestyle is something that is reflected throughout my home. I have always

enjoyed cooking, crafting and working on DIY projects but my true passion is combining those hobbies along with my LOVE of second hand shopping. Except for our beds, almost everything in our house has come from a thrift store, garage sale or flea market. Ahhhh…the thrill of the hunt and execution of a great idea is what keeps my creative juices flowing. I look forward to sharing with you, chatting with you and working with you. Email me at [email protected] if you would like to do some networking and collaborating.

When we bought our property this tiny blue house was quite an eyesore. Two bedrooms, 1 bath and 800 sqft full of trash and junk. It was missing windows, didn't have plumbing or electricity but it was full of potential. The view off the front porch was worth the blood sweat and tears. Today, I gave a "before" tour in my stories. Follow along here or on IG.

Just a reminder of what the tiny house used to look like. More trash, of course. I'll share more context in my stories.

How did a girl from Chicago end up with 25 acres in Texas? March 2021, is when we finally got the keys after a long, drawn out closing that started in December 2020. The first thing we did was get to clearing out the trash that was inside and outside. It was enough to fill 3 dumpsters.
