What started as a builder-grade entry, staircase, and sitting room is now one of the most striking spaces in the home.

Built in 1991, this condo featured a closed-off kitchen and separate living spaces that felt disconnected from the rest of the home.

Many homes and condos from the 80s and 90s were built with non-load-bearing walls, making it possible to open up the layout and create a more connected main living area. By reworking the existing footprint, we added a large island, improved storage, and created a brighter, more functional space for everyday living.

This primary suite addition was designed to give these homeowners a comfortable main-floor living space for years to come.

Rather than adding an accessible elevator to reach the existing second-floor bedrooms, they chose to build a new primary suite overlooking their wooded property. The addition includes a custom bathroom, walk-in closet, and spacious bedroom, with finishes selected to tie in with the rest of the home.
