Local business had some landscape lighting that was kicked over during the winter. All the bases looked like the first picture. Poured concrete bases and set Simpson Strong Ties to anchor the posts. Placed foot long pieces of ground contact rated 4x4, ran new electric, and set the old lights on top. I think the end result is pretty nice.

I haven't posted in a while because I've been crazy busy. Been doing some paint jobs and a complete bathroom remodel. These pics are the paint and rot replacement down near the lake. I also created a deck for the customer at the edge of their property. Also included the security cams and lighting that I installed for a local funeral home.

It's been a little bit since my last post but I've been busy. I repaired an exterior wall and siding at a house on the lake, and also put a deck up on their breakwater. I also did some work at a funeral home putting in an upgraded security camera system and I updated the recessed lighting as well as adding 12 additional lights.(the pic with my ladder in it at the funeral home is the before pic). Oh yeah, the house I did all that work in down in Mt. Morris sold after only being on the market for 4 days and for above asking price!!!

Had a customer who is having a new hardwood floor put in but installing the floor on their landing would create a major difference in the riser height, which isn't good. So I ripped out the existing subfloor, installed 2x4 blocking, and inlaid the new sublooring to be flush with existing framing. Then laid 1/4" plywood over that for nice smooth surface.

So I'm off for the rest of the week because I had a minor surgery on Tuesday that put a 3 inch hole in my abdomen. It's all good, I'm fine just a little sore. Anyway, I was going through some pics of another project u have going and came across these. This is what happens when your painter relies on caulk a little too much to get his lines. After 10 years or so the caulk dries out and cracks and looks like crap. Then I have to come along, and scrape it all out before I can paint. But look at the difference in the definition of your crown molding once that caulk is gone. You paid extra for crown molding, you should be able to enjoy all its curves. Lol.
