A little mention in the this weekend featured our Gilberts Path project as an example of well done and worthy expansion/restoration to Andrew Geller's Green House. Thank you to the writer!

Modernist beach houses on the south fork have long been championed by architects with great respect for the past and artistic vision for the future, as well as homeowners with passion and a knack for preserving good art.

Inside our Gilbert’s Path project originally designed by which we worked to restore and expand. We love the reapplication of simple No 2 cedar that kept the home true to its roots. The extended cantilevered ground floor was designed by Isaac-Rae to open up a communal living space for entertaining while also retaining room to create a generous guest bath. // Behind the hanging art are the stairs that lead to the lofted master suite that looks out over the double height living room on one side and the dunes on the other.

When we were given the chance to design a restoration and expansion for an Andrew Geller beach house in disrepair we were determined to keep the soul of Geller’s great work alive and expand on his design using new but complementary geometry. The result was a ground up custom home based on quality (not quantity). Simplicity. Laid-back luxury in the mix of materiality. And, in the spirit of Geller: Fun.

Six years ago we had the chance to work with a piece of art in the form of a beach house. This Andrew Geller house was falling to pieces and ready for a momentous resurrection with the right team. Thanks to team who rebuilt this place with us from the studs up, who helped shape interior design, .karen.9 furniture and cabinetry craftsmanship, and the owner for the shared vision and fun work.
