A contractor covered these foundation vents with siding...

Five years later the homeowner's living room floor was sagging over 6 inches.

The homeowner had been walking around the edges of the room so they wouldn't fall through the floor.
The white you see here is mold from trapped moisture.

When vents are blocked, air can't circulate under the home — moisture builds up and the structure begins to rot.

This is demo day.

Right now we're just stabilizing the house so it doesn't collapse.

Unfortunately the damage goes far beyond the living room.
