Octopuses have THREE hearts.

Two pump blood to the gills. One pumps it to the rest of the body. And here's the wild part, when an octopus swims, that main heart actually stops beating to save energy. That's why they'd rather crawl than swim if they can help it.

Oh, and their blood is blue. Not a metaphor, actually blue, thanks to a copper-based protein instead of iron.

Tip Tuesday

Quick safety check that takes two minutes and could save a life.

Every garage door with an opener has an auto-reverse safety feature; if something's in the way when it's closing, it's supposed to sense it and reverse back up. But that sensor can drift out of adjustment over time, and most folks never find out until it's too late.

Here's the test: set a 2x4 flat on the ground where the door closes. Run the door down. If it touches the wood and doesn't immediately reverse, that's a problem, and not one to put off.

Kids, and pets don't always move as fast as we'd like. Two minutes now beats a trip to the ER later.

Another one in the books!

This project was a full transformation, we ripped out old flooring and put down brand new, hung fresh doors throughout, and tore out a tired old shower surround to tile in a completely new one from scratch.

There's something so satisfying about walking into a space and seeing it completely renewed. New floors underfoot, doors that actually close right, and a shower that looks like it belongs in a magazine.

Venus takes 243 Earth days to spin around once on its axis. But it only takes 225 Earth days to make a full trip around the sun.

Another roof in the books, and this one's a beauty.

When we got up there, we found some rotted sheathing hiding under the old roofing — the kind of damage you can't always see from the ground, but it's exactly why a proper tear-off matters. We replaced the compromised decking to make sure everything underneath is solid before a single new shingle went down.

The result? A roof that's not just gorgeous, but built right from the deck up. Our client couldn't stop smiling when they saw the finished product, and honestly, neither could we.

This is why we always check what's underneath a good looking roof is only as good as what's holding it up.
