A properly framed door opening starts with precise rough opening dimensions.
This diagram shows how wall framing is sized to support a standard door installation:
* The structural header extends beyond the door size to transfer loads safely into the wall framing
* Extra space is left around the door opening to allow for shimming, leveling, and final alignment
* The vertical clearance helps accommodate the door frame and flooring adjustments during installation

FYI. Not every splice in is correct do it right or call the professionals.

Can anyone tell me what this is... ill give you a hint... if you can't go ahead and take that g.c. logo off your service fleet..
Story time. I got a text at 1030 because a investor hired a team who claimed they could locate and fix sanitation lines no problem... spent a few days digging to with no solutions offered. Within 12 hours I had the utilities marked and located and mapped from the engineering department... guys there's more to it than slapping the lumber into place or in this case pipes... give us a call if you need the real work done.
