The planting of a Native Garden at the Woodland Nook is part of my Girl Scout Gold Award project. As suburbian landscapes begin to dominate many regions, many local species from producers to tertiary consumers are threatened. By bringing native gardens into our yards, we can give these species ecosystems in which to thrive. This page is to function as a journal of my project and a guide to anyone interested in planting their own native garden.

The sun is shining, and its almost May! Now it is the time we begin considering what to plant in our garden. I will begin planting in May using this list of native species. Planting will begin in early May! So excited to get this project fully underway! If you would like to HELP PLANT please contact me. I will be planting over 1,200 plugs in around a month time span! We don't know exactly when plants will arrive. If you are interested you will be put on a list, and I will contact you when volunteers are necessary. When you are available, you are in for a host of native fun. I will greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide!
