Mountain Fare High Altitude Cooking High Attitude Cook @ High Altitude Seeks Like-Minded Individuals for Gastronomical Discourse Eeeek!

In 1982 I moved to Vail, Colorado from sea level Maine, and promptly (and rather less joyously) discovered that cooking - and especially baking - is just not the same at high altitude. Since then I have found some of the typical and oft repeated high-altitude cooking tips to be much more useful than others, leading me to wonder if the people who publish this stuff really even live and cook in the

mountains. I also discovered (through painful firsthand experience, naturally) that lots of things require adjustment in even “regular cooking”. By 2000, I had it "down", and was writing high-altitude cooking columns for a local newspaper. I'll be sharing those with you, along with new creations.
*All* the recipes I share here will be family-tested, tried and true, and if needed, already adjusted for altitude. If you have a favorite high-altitude recipe to share, I'd love to see and try it, too!
