"It was the morning of Christmas and up in my house,
My heat isn't working, angry is my spouse.
I jiggled the thermostat, and pushed heat with care,
In hopes that we would soon feel the warm air.
The dog had a shiver, my wife had a sigh,
I knew it was time, I called the furnace guy.
Soon from the porch there arose such a clatter,
A tech with his tools, he'd find what was the matter.
I led him down to the furnace with speed,
Please give us heat, it's all Christmas needs.
He pulled out the filter and out came a cloud,
Dust and dirt and fur, I really wasn't proud.
A brand new filter, the tech did install,
I wanted to bang my head on the wall.
The flame gave a whoosh, the fan gave a whir,
The cat felt the heat and let out a purr.
The tech put a sticker on the furnace with care,
I'd remember my filter, I like my warm air.
