This sunroom sits inside one of our favorite kinds of projects: an historic home where the goal was to preserve the past while modernizing the space for how we live... today. Original windows, period trim, and a floor pattern worth keeping all stayed. What we added was comfort: a window seat built for reading, a bar for gathering, and furnishings that feel like they’ve always belonged. Preservation and personality can live in the same room — swipe through to see how. Ready to transform your own historic home?

So happy to have been a sponsor for this important event. You really realize how lucky you are when you see the thrill of people being able to choose a new pair of socks, especially the kids.

Sock + October = SOCKTOBER
SOCTOBER month has started, and all the donation boxes are out (list below)! SOCKTOBER is a “kid inspired” community event that teaches compassion and kindness as our local kids collect NEW socks for the many men, women and children in area homeless shelters NOW THROUGH OCT 31.

This community project is entirely volunteer driven by Glastonbury Newcomers' & Neighbors' Club kids and families in partnership with Community Renewal Team and made possible thanks to our four Socktober sponsors: Elite Karate & Krav Maga, Glastonbury Carpet & Flooring, Glastonbury River Runners Running Club, Margaret Wilcox Team at William Raveis Real Estate and Sharon McCormick Design.

A snippet of a formal living room turned into my client’s home office. The built-ins are new. The sofa is a perfect perch when not sitting at the desk. It opens into a queen-sized bed, adding to the function of the room as a guest bedroom. How can you make the most of your square footage without renovating?

I love the way these glossy tiles catch the light. It’s ever-changing.

“Modular” doesn’t have to mean ordinary. ✨

Sharon was featured in the sharing how thoughtful material and finish choices can turn a modular home into something that feels truly custom, layered, and personal.

Prefab is the starting point. Texture, color, and craftsmanship are where it becomes a home.

Work-in-progress! It’s so fun seeing a project coming to life!

Black kitchen or white kitchen? 🖤🤍

Sharon’s advice for going dark: treat it like a little black dress, where “the jewelry is what makes it special.” Brass hardware, chrome accents and smart lighting do the heavy lifting.

Built-ins are often a focal point but lighting them makes them a standout!

Primary bedroom finished in 2014, long before the “gray era”. My clients were so trend-setting!
