🐝 PSA: Bumblebees are basically the gentle giants of the insect world! They don't want to sting you, they just want to do their pollination thing in peace.

In fact, they'll raise a leg as a warning rather than attack. These fuzzy pollinators are way more interested in flowers than in bothering humans.

Next time you see one, appreciate it from a respectful distance and let it work its magic. Leave them bee! πŸ’›βœ¨

Here's a fascinating garden science lesson: hydrangea bloom color is determined by your soil's pH level! πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’—

Lower pH creates blue flowers, higher pH produces pink ones, and neutral pH gives you purple tones. This happens because acidic soil makes aluminum more available to the plant, which creates the blue pigment.

If you want to change your hydrangea's color, you can amend your soil accordingly - though it takes patience and the right variety!

LANDSCAPE for WILDLIFE: American Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana), a native tree that can range in height from 15 to 100 feet, produces large, orange, edible fruit that attracts a variety of birds and mammals and can also be enjoyed by humans in puddings, cookies, and pies. The fruit is strongly astringent when immature, but it becomes soft and sweet as it ripens. The tree also serves as a larval host for the Luna and Hickory Horndevil moths.
