At LDS Electric, we don’t just replace panels and fix electrical problems — we fight for our customers when others won’t.
We were called out to a home where the dryer had lost power. During our inspection, we found something much more serious… the electrical panel was burned up and posed a major safety hazard to the homeowner and their family.
We immediately contacted the power company requesting an emergency disconnect so the unsafe panel could be replaced before something catastrophic happened. Instead of responding to the danger, we were met with disbelief and resistance. Because the homeowner hadn’t personally described the panel as “burned” during their call, the power company accused us of exaggerating the emergency and refused to pull the meter.
After going in circles trying to advocate for this homeowner’s safety, we asked for one simple thing: if they were going to force this family to wait the standard two-week timeframe while living with a dangerous electrical panel, then they needed to sign a release of liability protecting both the homeowner and our company if something tragic happened during that wait.
They refused.
At that point, we documented everything and officially filed a complaint with the State Corporation Commission on behalf of the homeowner. Every conversation, every refusal, and every safety concern has been recorded.
This isn’t just about one electrical panel. This is about standing up for homeowners when safety is ignored. Too many people get pushed around, delayed, or dismissed when they’re simply trying to protect their families.
We will always do the right thing — even when it means fighting uphill battles behind the scenes that nobody else sees.
Your family’s safety comes first. Every single time.
