👷♂️Today is National Forklift Safety Day🚧
From our team members to our contractors and customers, every person on our sites deserves a safe environment. That’s why our operators are thoroughly trained and regularly observed to help prevent hazards like collisions, falls, tip-overs, and struck-by incidents.
As we mark the day, here are a few key ways we can all help keep safety front and center:
1. Complete a forklift inspection before every use and take it out of service if anything isn’t right.
2. Buckle up! Seat belts save lives.
3. Use 3 points of contact when getting on and off equipment.
4. Sound the horn at cross aisles and in obstructed areas.
5. Keep at least 12 feet between forklifts and pedestrians.
6. Stay within capacity limits and ensure loads are stable.
7. Never raise or lower loads while moving.
8. Maintain a safe distance from docks and ramps.
9. Watch overhead clearance when lifting.
10. Stay clear of pinch points for yourself and others.
Let’s work together to keep our workplaces safe today and every day.
