#2. Pruning when trees are dormant causes less stress.
#3. While the leaves are gone it’s easier to see the branch structure. Which helps to select the best branches to thin/reduce.

BE WEATHER AWARE JULY 9, 2025, SAY ALEXANDER OFFICIALS --

Alexander County is currently under a Hazardous Weather Outlook on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, due to the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening, according to Alexander County Emergency Management officials. Damaging winds are expected to be the primary threat, along with the possibility of heavy rain, frequent lightning, and isolated flash flooding. The National Weather Service has placed the county under an elevated threat level, rated 2 out of 4, for excessive rainfall and lightning.

Residents should remain weather-aware throughout the day, as storms may lead to hazardous travel conditions, including flooded roadways, downed trees, and power outages. Use caution when driving, especially in low-lying or flood-prone areas. Secure any outdoor items that could be displaced by high winds and ensure that mobile devices are charged in case of power interruptions. Monitor trusted sources such as NOAA Weather Radio or local alerts for updates as conditions develop.
