We will be open Fridays 9-6 and Saturdays 9-3 throughout the month of April this year. Take a look at some of the things that will be available!
On another note, so many people have reached out and blessed me with such kind words and many stories of their own cancer journeys. I want to thank you for that!
Many people also ask me how I am feeling. To be honest, I usually feel better than I did for the majority of last year.
People also ask how one treats cancer naturally. I’m actually still learning about all of that as there is SO much information out there and there are SO many examples of people who have successfully done this. The tricky thing is that everyone is different and what works for one person might not work for another. And I won’t get into everything that I am doing, but I will tell you some of the very first actions I took when I realized that this was a very real probability. I was beginning to freak out a bit so I looked up the verse about being anxious. Because knowing the cancer was there but not knowing how bad or what to expect in the next months and year was probably the scariest part for me. A person can let their mind run away with all the scary thoughts and I was doing that for a while. So I looked to Philippians 4:6-7. It says, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The 2 words that stuck out to me most was “with thanksgiving”. We are to be thankful even when things are hard. We are to be thankful even when circumstances are not fun. I remembered in the book The Hiding Place when while in the concentration camp, Corrie Ten Boom thanked God for the fleas that infested the prisoners quarters. She didn’t know why she was thanking God for the fleas, but the Bible said to be thankful in all circumstances, so she was trying to do that. She later found out that it was the fleas that kept the guards away from their barracks which in turn allowed them the space for Bible studies and prayer and the opportunity for many to come to Jesus even in the middle of horrendous conditions and circumstances.
So I tried to be thankful even though I wasn’t sure why. If Corrie could be thankful for fleas, I would try to be thankful for this.
Those verses brought me a lot of comfort so I started to read it again except I started with verse 4 the next time…”Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”
I tried that too. And amazingly enough, it helped. I’m not saying that it fixed my issue or my anxiety about the issue, but when I did rejoice in the Lord as the verse said, it definitely calmed me down. So there were waves of joyfulness followed by anxiety and fear. Then, oh wait, rejoice and be thankful…then I would let my mind run to the what if’s and the cycle continued for a bit.
The next thing I did was ask the deacons of the church I attend to pray.
Next, I stopped eating sugar, seed oils, grains, and dairy.
Then, my daughter and I met with a friend who is going through her own cancer journey and she told me about Chris Wark and the Chris Beat Cancer book. She also prayed for me/us.
I looked that up and found another book, Radical Remissions. This one arrived in the mail first so I read it first. I didn’t agree with everything in the spiritual chapter of this book, but I did find it very interesting and helpful and hopeful as it chronicled many cancer survivors who treated their cancer naturally.
All this before I even had the biopsy that confirmed the diagnosis!
I have since read more books, watched more podcasts checked out lots of different things that different people have given me leads on and I continue to implement them as I can and as I have time. I will go over some of those things in a different post, but for now, enjoy some plant pictures and look forward to spring with me!😃
