The beauty is in the details. Every element of this Cohasset home was carefully considered to reflect the era that inspired it. Designed to feel as though it was built in the 1800s, the craftsmanship, millwork, materials, and finishes all work together to create a sense of history and permanence.

Timeless. Welcoming. Built to last for generations. More to come of this beautiful home soon.

A few weeks ago, we spent a morning picking flowers at , one of those simple South Shore moments that reminds us why we love calling this place home.

Truthfully, there have been times we’ve talked about moving back to upstate New York to be closer to family. But every time we do, we find ourselves coming back to the life we’ve built here. The neighbors who have become friends. The local businesses we love supporting. The endless New England traditions that fill every season with something to look forward to.

From spring farm visits and summer beach days to fall foliage and holiday strolls through town, there is always something happening that brings people together.

We’re grateful to not only build homes on the South Shore, but to be part of the community that makes this place so special.

What is your favorite South Shore tradition this time of year?

It’s starting to feel real over here at The Pickled Husky .

Floors are going down, tile is being installed, and all of the little details that bring a home to life are finally coming together. Every week this place feels a little more like the mountain retreat we imagined from the very beginning.

Keep swiping because some of our favorite views and details are tucked later into the carousel.

We’re targeting early to mid August for short term rental availability and cannot wait to share this home with you.

This doesn’t look like an ice cream shop… yet.

But places like this do not happen by accident.

Hingham knows Nona’s as a staple. A place people return to summer after summer, year after year. That kind of success is built over time with care, consistency, and a team that truly understands what they are creating.

We are proud to be part of bringing that same place everyone loves into its next chapter. Same roots. Same community. Thoughtfully elevated.

At White Oak Home, this is what matters to us. Not just building spaces, but building within the towns we live in and care about alongside the people who make them what they are.

Excited to share more as it comes together.

This is where the night begins and ends.

Every detail in this home was designed with intention, and this space is one of our favorites. Layered lighting, rich tones, and a layout that makes hosting feel effortless.

We loved this home so much, we featured it inside the private magazine we send to our clients. It walks through exactly how spaces like this come together, and why they feel so different when they’re done right.

If you know, you know. And if you don’t… you’re about to.

Most builders will tell you to “just carry 10–20% contingency.”

But that’s not how real projects work.

Every home has its own set of unknowns… existing conditions, structural surprises, design evolution, even site access. Treating every project the same with a blanket percentage doesn’t give you clarity, it gives you a false sense of security.

Chris breaks down how we approach contingency differently. We walk through the actual unknowns in your project and assign real numbers to them, so you can understand where your risk is and what it could realistically cost.

It’s not about padding the budget. It’s about removing the guesswork.

Because the more you understand upfront, the fewer surprises you face later.

Small footprint. Big craftsmanship.

This cozy garage apartment ADU proves that thoughtful design matters at every scale. The space above the garage was transformed into a warm short-term rental with a bed nook, compact kitchen tucked into the roofline, and layered textures throughout.

With ADUs now being explored across Hingham and the South Shore, these spaces are opening up new possibilities for homeowners.

We broke down the project in our latest blog post.

Most homeowners don’t actually compare bids.
They compare bottom lines.

But the lowest number doesn’t always mean the best value — and the highest number doesn’t always mean the most complete.

When we level bids, we’re looking at:

• What’s actually included
• What allowances were assumed
• What’s missing
• How supervision and project management are handled
• And whether you’re comparing apples to apples

Two proposals can be separated by six figures and be pricing entirely different scopes.

And here’s something most builders won’t say:
We’re happy to review other bids with you — even if they’re not ours, and even if we don’t know who they’re from.

An informed homeowner makes better decisions.
Clarity protects your investment.

That’s how you build thoughtfully.

This reclaimed wood mantle was part of one of our very first projects.
Craftsmanship like this has been at the forefront of our work since the beginning and it remains one of the pillars of how we build today.
Thoughtful details. Honest materials. Homes built to last.
