You never know where your inspiration will come from. My 'sewing' brain had saved this blouse image a while back because I really liked the style, blend of colors and fabric. Recently, I started in on a stone project and realized I was gravitating toward the same colors. As luck would have it (ha, ha) I also had a perfect piece of driftwood. Ok, so my whale wears red lipstick! 😊
This one was really fun to make. To show off the grain of the driftwood I painted it in various shades of deep blue using a variegated wash technique.

This piece of driftwood was another fabulous find. It was the perfect shape, size and wow -- that eye! I decked him out in some of my favorite colors.

Three crooked little houses with a crooked little tree. This is what I try to explain to my husband -- I have to save all the unique things I pick up on the beach or I wouldn't have had this crooked stick for the tree! 😉

I've had this fabulous piece of driftwood for quite some time and just recently added this "fish." I was going to post it for sale in my shop but fear it's too fragile to ship. So -- some things just aren't meant to travel. I guess I just have to keep this one 😁
