This Grand Haven cottage got a major overhaul, with strategic updates that made a huge impact. New flooring, paint, tile, and custom millwork brought fresh life to this second home and short-term rental while preserving the charm that made the cottage special.

Our sweet client was all in on cottage charm, so we leaned into the character while making thoughtful updates for everyday function, durability, and guests. The result? A home that feels fresh, collected, and ready for its next chapter.

This is such a meaningful milestone for our small but mighty business. What started as a dream has continued to grow because of the incredible support from our clients, industry partners, family, and friends. We truly wouldn’t be here without you.

One of my favorite parts of being a designer has always been seeing the potential in a space that others might overlook. Finding the good bones, imagining what could be, and creating something that feels both beautiful and deeply functional is exactly how Enza Design Studio was built. It feels fitting that our first studio begins the same way.

We can’t wait to transform this space into a studio that reflects who we are, showcases our design process, and welcomes our clients.

We’ll officially be calling it home starting this September, and we can’t wait to bring you along for the journey.

Classic details, thoughtful storage, and timeless finishes. Every corner of our Lake Mac Mesa kitchen project was designed to be as functional as it is beautiful.

Every home has a story, and this one was all about creating a place our clients could enjoy for decades to come.

When they came to Enza Design Studio, they weren’t looking to build bigger. They wanted to transform the home they already loved into their forever home while staying within the existing footprint. Aging in place was a top priority, so every design decision focused on improving accessibility, comfort, and everyday function.

The original home had just one small bathroom, three choppy bedrooms, a cramped kitchen with poor flow, and a garage entrance that opened directly to the top of the basement stairs. Hallways and clearances also weren’t designed to accommodate future mobility needs.

Through thoughtful planning, we were able to completely reimagine the main level without adding a single square foot. The transformation included:
• A newly enclosed mudroom off the garage
• Relocating the garage entry for a safer, more functional arrival
• A redesigned kitchen with improved flow
• A built-in dining nook for everyday living
• A new primary suite with an en suite bathroom
• Wider hallways and improved clearances for future accessibility
• Countless small adjustments that together made a dramatic difference

This project is a reminder that great design isn’t always about adding more space. Sometimes it’s about making every inch work harder, allowing a home to evolve with the people who live in it.

If you’ve driven down James Street lately, you may have noticed a new building taking shape. 👀

We’re so excited to share that it’s the future home of Dr. Laurie Birkholz & Associates and Equilibrium Physical Therapy, conveniently located right next door to their current office!

Working alongside Dr. Laurie Birkholz and Erin Lamp is such an honor. They are a powerhouse duo with a shared passion for helping people, and we’re excited to bring that same level of intention into the design of their new space.

Our goal is to create an environment that feels warm, welcoming, and more like home than a typical healthcare office. We can’t wait to bring this vision to life and share more of the journey with you.

Say hello to, Julie! Our newest team member 👏

Julie brings a strong background in studio administration and operations, with years of experience supporting interior design firms and keeping projects, people, and processes running smoothly. She has a passion for organization, client care, and being the backbone that allows creativity to thrive.

Before joining Enza Design Studio, Julie built her career supporting design professionals behind the scenes, making sure every detail was accounted for and every client felt cared for. That same passion for creating structure and solving problems now helps keep our studio running efficiently, allowing our team to focus on creating exceptional spaces for our clients.

Outside of work, Julie splits her time between Chicago and Saugatuck with her husband, son, and two pups. She loves antiquing, tending to her pennyroyal, and cruising around in her new golf cart. Whether she’s discovering a one-of-a-kind vintage find or enjoying a quiet afternoon by the lake, Julie finds inspiration in life’s simple moments.
